Furniture can make impressions on the carpet. You discover impressions in the carpet where the legs have stood when you move the furniture around to give a new look. The furniture flattens the carpet pile and the padding and creates impressions. The impressions fade as time goes by but they do not disappear totally. To remove the impressions, the carpet needs to be revived and fluffed up. The procedure is very simple and does not cost much.

    Instructions

    1. The furniture should be moved away from the carpet impressions not far, just enough so that the impressions are visible.

    2. An ice cube should be placed in each of the impressions and allowed to melt. The carpet fibers are revived by the melted ice.

    3. The carpet pile should be brushed gently with an old toothbrush to remove the impressions. The carpet fibers are fluffed up by the toothbrush bristles and any long-lasting impressions get removed.

    4. The carpet is allowed to dry naturally.
